Pu - Plutonium

Plutonium was discovered, secretly, in 1940 by Glenn Seaborg with Wahl and Kennedy at Berkeley and publicly reported in 1946. Plutonium was extracted from uranium ore in 1947. Until recently the major use of plutonium has been for nuclear weaponry, it now finds its best use in deep space probe electricity sources .
